New forum needs a LFC thread in ROW. maybe should read Rest of The World Pasquali :)
Hope a bit more activity occurs ahead for the top euro leagues are the bars of the game more than anywhere else.

Huge phase coming up for LFC.....
7 games in 21 days.

Chelsea this weekend @ Anfield will be massive looking forward to it.

yer I saw that in my feeds, PAO haven't started great in the league but early days.
I'm sure the Redmen will give post chelski a run and hurt a few haha we better lock up Palmer or cut ball getting to him mostly.

Wow wow wow - what a frigging game from start to finish + 7mins ET.
Chelski are a hot young squad - I had grave fears at times they had more possession than us at home.
Our defense and mid is sensational to date under Slot.
Impressive.
The one touch and movement by both teams is to be admired so much under pressure.
Big call Slot not starting Macca in pref Jones who ends up MOTM.
Important first win against one of the top 6 and good stead taking on Gooners next game.

yes was impressed by the blues, infact I was on the edge of the seat wee hours of the morn feeling they are going to equalise late for they were damn goooood !
MInd you we stood up and matched them.
Great game end to end stuff.
Slot is proving so far he's a smart gaffa, playing Jones unexpectedly was the joker card, he covered Palmer a number of times.
We start up quite slow/controlled compared to Kloppball, no high press most of first half but then suddenly press forcing the error.
Blues are damn brilliant on the ball, Palmer/Neto and their backline, they have a strong squad, Thankfully they are going to take points off some of our fellow contenders.
Arse have Saliba suspended, great start.

CL game vs Leipzig coming up A, go you Redmen.

and played this morn away.
Always tuff games in Germany, made it hard for ourselves not finishing more !
Had them covered 70% of the game, just couldn't finsh it off being more comfortable for 1 up is never a given.
We suffered some scares but weathered the raids.
Tsimikas MOTM was surprising got to say, I thought he over done it at times lost possession in our half but he's always good when going forward.
Cross's a beaut ball for the goal.
This article sums up a little of my feelings watching us hold stations like this game whereas Kloppy's was go for the kill always :)
Slot is all about "control" but its risky at the same time.
As it mentions though, we have never won 11 of the openning 12 games, (6 away) is pretty epic start.

Level top of the CL ladder with Villa and City in P3.
EPL showing its strength at this stage, P8 up have qualied straight to R16.

Slotsie is having a great start to his managerial career in Liverpool... could be a great season.

yer, I kind of dislike these great starts as much as its better than experiencing loss's.
It gets too talked up like last years quadruple pre mature crap.
Just not needed, chicken before the egg stuff right.
STFU lets just play, media does it I know, least Slot is very conservative and smart in pressy's.

So the so called first title showdown came.
Gooners are a very good side as is LFC.
Playing away is never easy and expected a tuff challenge.
Our line up was pretty balanced but for LB, Robbo is getting found out all too often this season.
His lack of pace when having to turn back is hurting us as that ball over his head for Saka to run onto, worse to cut inside him between his lags to have a clear point blank shot on goal was hurtful viewing at the 9th bloody min.
Thats all we needed for such an important game though Slotball mentality has us in the mind of settling back into the game and grind away.
At times I'm getting frustrated by our slower build up, the Klopp urgency style of approach has been killed and imo it leaves us "hurting" more than we need letting our opponent come to us more.
That whole first half was in Arsenal's hands, thankfully we pulled the score back from a brilliant corner flicked on by Diaz and VVD heading it in for the kill, that was sweat play and finish.
2nd period Arsenal get a freekick in good position (set pieces their game) and we are keeping a highline as you would, to leave 3/4 gooners running on to meet the ball with no contest pissed me right off easy goal going 2-1 up ffs.
Thankfully having been pressed our end recovering possession deep TAA does his usual nice release down the flank for Nunez to run on heading towards the box, I thought, F no you better release the ball for MO went runnign inside of him towards the box, thank christ Nunez released perfect ball for MO to drive it into the net ! 2-2 !!
Coming twice from behind the Gooners is a beaut thing and away.
We settled, I don't like this approach, allowed them coming back to us with 10 or so left got too close, we could have gone for the killer earlier.
No injuries I think.

Nonetheless - we've done Chelsea, drawn Arsenal good tests so far, next up Brighton in the League Cup, rest a few and back up Brighton again next league game.

Yes it takes some getting used to, I find I want them to play the ball fast and break in numbers but they often go so far and then pull back from the kill, still as we are winning I guess its working so far but will it against City who I always thought could not contain Klopp style heavy metal football we will see I guess

Thought Chelsea were better than Arsenal really - infact Im not that impressed with Arsenal and we should have gone for the kill against them when we had the opportunity, listening to their fans on social media they are quite frankly delusional 😳 early days yet though long way to go !

Agree with this,,, Arsenal 2024/25 isn't the same dynamic scary fluid team from last season....

Welcome KK nice to see another Redman and one of my hero’s back in the day.

I agree - I like us to go in for the kill more so but as you say and we’re seeing it’s working But for how long.
I still squeeze my bum checks when we’re hit on a counter or set plays.
Set plays we dont look convincing enough for my liking and seems luck goes our way.

Arse are still good - prob getting found out by now.
Missing a couple of key players last couple of weeks but yer, don’t see them being out and out contenders.
City still the bar and will be a massive game when we meet.

My gooner mate is already conceding saying Nextseason haha....
Another quoted, watching Arsenal is like watching Netflix, you always have to wait for next season !

Anyway onwards and forwards,
Back on the game - I feel for Kelleher, as we know this kid has proven himself, I suspect with that other GK signing he's resigned to go elsewhere from next season.
TAA was typically doing it tuff handling quick and skilful Mitoma the 1st half, adjusted far better 2nd period that was good to see.
VVD was the rock as usual but got left for dead on one of their counters.
Konate was solid as usual till suffering the arm injury, looked bad as he walked off but reports confirms he'll be right for next game.
Macca, macca has been hot and cold imo, no doubt still doing his job covering - he is a dynamo box to box player but he was left behind many times due to seagulls quick touch play.
Gravenberch like macca struggled this game as well.
Tsimikas as mentioned imo has stepped up and really applying pressure on Robbo's starting spot.
Szobo was getting back covering for the 2 above, just wish he would link going forward a bit more clincal, its like MO/Diaz/Nunez can't read when his pass is being released he leaves it so late.
MO, well his class was for all to see, 32 and still a weapon and a half.
Nunez, one of his better games even though not scoring, he cause's havoc, has the speed and aggression, no backline likes having to face him got to say.
Gakpo this season is really showing he's becoming a key cog in the LFC way, luv his intent to attack attack and his boot is becoming lethal.
Jones - he is coming of age and another key player in the engine room.
Gomez, stepped in for Konate, done very well, OMG he got into position to finally score his 1st LFC goal twice ! poor fella really was hoping finally it came.
Diaz, luv this guys drive, skill and postioning, key attacker.
Endo, like MO similar vintage but I admire his workrate - great fit defensively.

Slot-ball, I got to get used to it but obviously working.
Impressive he's walked into Klopp's foundations and tweaked LFC to his style/vision and in just 10games here we are.
Our best start that I can recall, I really don't like being on top at this early stage got to say for as we know there's a lonnng way to go.

Next up CL and we welcome back Xabi, glad its at home for this one is big due to many things.

71min mark 2 up vs Alonso/bayer
Great 2nd half so far.
Brilliant build up play for Gapkos goal.
Slot smart with subs now I like.
