Summer of Cricket thread

If Starc can't back up, I would play Webster and Connolly.
Prefer Connolly started in white ball. Dont think he is a Test standard bowler at this stage to be brutally honest. Our Test standard tweakers are imo, Rocchiccoli (Rocky), Murphy, Agar, T Sangha and Kuhnemann, There is a young offie, Raf MacMillan, born in Blues territory but allowed to be poached by the TCA. Repped for his country in the Junior Ashes and has already played a Seconds match for Tassie. Bats too. Only 19. He is one to put in your little black book.

Are you attending the Sydney Test live, Baggers?
Fraid last Test at SCG some five years ago was my last. My brother and I were forced to sit out in open in 35 temp because our booking was stuffed. Was without doubt the most uncomfortable seven hours we have ever had to endure. Bordering on sun stroke it then took us over an hr to exit the grass car park opposite the ground, to top off a forgettable day. Well not totally, as we saw Matt Renshaw hit his only Test century.

For what it's worth not sure keen on a 'home' and 'away' thread,
Then come next month when the 'baggy greens' are in Sri Lanka how do we follow their progress. We have to have a separate thread or have the current one covering all our home/away Test matches. Pasquali what is your view?

If you had a Tas Crick Assoc membership which are easy to get, there are reciprocal rights with other state association members. You could get into Sydney members - I think.

Sitting in 35 degree heat is awful!

No network has been allocated it yet, Richie. To the best of my knowledge.

Amazon Prime have rights to the Test Championship Final at Lords in June.

Come in Pasquali.

He is a very busy man with this forum, Richie. IS no longer exists. Pasquali has brought almost the entire active IS forum with him.

Top wicket takers in the Shield after 6 games this season are pace bowlers, veteran Jackson Bird,
Born in Sydney. Another born in my state Chris Tremain was the leading bowler in '23/24. Both forced to leave for other states because Blues selectors ignored them. In another era both would have had long Test careers.

DC you and any other Tasmanians here will be cock a hoop with this news mate.

‘Time for a freshen up’: Marsh axed as Webster set for shock SCG debut

I think we needed this change.

Marsh was given too many opportunities and failed and has now fallen to 29 in ICC Test all-rounder player rankings. Wishing Webster luck in the final Test.
Pleased for Beau as he from Tassie, one of my fave cricket states. Make the most of your time in that role mate as I reckon Aaron Hardie will be itching to pinch it from you.

Once rated Bison at Test level and pushed his barrow when others called for his sacking. He just kept on disappointing me until I finally had to relent and join the majority calling for his head. He was sacked shortly after that from memory.

So Starc will be playing thru pain again. He took a solitary wicket at the G, looked cooked. Word is back trouble. Not an injury to be brushing away.
