Summer of Cricket thread

None of the TCA boys? I back the concept but will CA, given the extra cost. Only downside for mine is either team finding the personnel to be competitive.
I'd also like to see a female red ball domestic comp or combined with the current white ball one.
Fill those two territory teams with fringe players from other states - particularly NSW. So many have been told aren't good enough for NSW, then become successful Shield players for other states, even Aus players.

Australia Mens, Womens and the As winning their respective test matches within hours of one another.

Complete and utter domination.
It is utter domination - but - we haven't won a series in SL since 2011. We lost in 2016 0-3, and drew the series a few years ago 1-1.

R to your post, Richie.

Usman was brilliant! I thought he had lost his hand eye, but he showed at age 38 some players can still be successful.

Selectors got the test teams right, both men's and women's.
Cant help thinking what may have been had Konstas played, either opening or at #5. Little chance now as no way will they change a winning side, specially one so dominant. Young Sam's career wud be best served by playing the final shield rounds over facing more net bowling.

Hoping Josh Hazlewood is given some shield too as prep for the WTC Final, then immediately after the West Indies tour. Been a decade since we toured the Caribbean , recalling the rookie
Hazlewood had a ripper two Test tour taking 12 at under @10.

Hopefully, JH is ready for some Shield cricket.

This puts the significance of Australia's win into context. The first on that list on the sub continent in our history.

Australia's largest Test wins by runs:

Innings and 360 runs: v South Africa, Johannesburg, 2002

Innings and 332 runs: v England, Brisbane, 1946

Innings and 259 runs: v South Africa, Port Elizabeth, 1950

Innings and 242 runs: v Sri Lanka, Galle, 2025

It is an amazing win! The only thing some don't realise is how we haven't beaten SL since 2011 in SL - over an entire series.

This will please you DC.
Former Tasmanian pace man Adam Griffiths will take charge of Australia’s fast bowling present and future as the new pace bowling coach. He will be based at the NCC where his responsibilities will include leading a national strategy to develop pace bowlers, overseeing the preparation of national pace bowlers plus assisting with the development of pace bowling coaches.

Good.

We were surprised that Adam Griffiths left the Tas Shield head coaching role after just one season.

Another coach, said he didn't want it, because as soon as one took the position, it becomes a 24/7 job.

Congrats Travis Head on winning A B Medal. Has he reinvented his game or just found more consistency.

If the chicks want to play more Test cricket and most at the elite level say they do, then it is time the CA, BCCI , ECB incorporated red ball into their domestic set up. The minnow nations will likely follow. You only have to see the lack of red ball technique from many females to see this is a priority going forward.

is that an award, or just one you'd like to see?
Would be good to see test cricket for women played a bit more often. Doesn't need to be at large grounds.
