With the sun out the conditions look worryingly batter friendly

Needed a few more in the sheds to cash in.

The south african line up probably struggles to get 300 in excellent conditions but we are arent getting that many...

If by some miracle we survive here for a length of time we also eat into good batting conditions

This track is now a featherbed but keep hitting that 6-8m zone and the wickets will keep on falling.

Great partnership by this pair who have been playing together since the U19s, perhaps even before.

Doubt Starc has scored too many more important 50s than that while Hazlewood ensured his old mate got em.

We will defend 282. If there was cloud cover australia convincing leaders, but if the sun stays out for all of south africas chase australia probably 30 to 40 short of parity

Pitch has absolutely died with the sun out

It looks like we need something special from lyon to dig us out here

A red flag was we suddlenly found it easy for our 10 and 11 this morning

My take on Aussies present predicament is Starc coming off a gutsy 50 had to have had his tail up, but this guy was born inconsistent and instead of ripping thru the top order with his lethal in swinging yorker he was so off radar in his opening 5/6 overs that he got the Saffers off to a flyer which gave them the confidence and belief that they could win this if they kept their heads batting on what now was a featherbed. And that is precisely what they did. Hats off to them.

Smiths pinkie looks nasty and will probably rule him out of the Windies tour. Not what we wanted but it will likely give Josh Inglis the chance to add to his 2 Tests, after he scored a ton in his last. This opens a spot for a reserve batsman, so who will get the nod? My money is on bolter Jason Sangha. I am thinking instead that the selectors may recall Nathan McSweeney with a view to his probable future captaincy plus the main point, he is a specialist #3..
