The Ange at Tottenham Thread

No goals and no shots on target in 6 games tells its own story....

£55m + £10m in potential add ons? Yep, the verdict is still very much out!

Two goals, 1 assist in 7 games in the EPL and still settling in. Another goal in the Europa League. It can take time sometimes.

£65m ~ Probably Ange's first big statement signing. A player with 250 games in English football who needs time to settle in?

Maybe it's that then....

The EPL is weird. There is zero patience. Some people will call it high performance. I think it's panic and holds a lot of clubs back. Brentford are a good example of what you can do if you play the long game and are stable. It's what the successful big clubs do too.

Solanke delivering today. He's chipping away at justifying his fee but I was sceptical at first given the English and EPL inflation of his value when there are excellent options in Europe for half the price.

Anyways. A good double to take the lead but now Romero off injured.

I've learned you should always take caution for sooner or later you get bitten :)
Read what Ange says of Solanke - sure buying him is on him but as he says, its not just about goals, its what a forward does in general play, Nunez at LFC is another similar example of scoring expectations and we paid like $80M.
He also scored 2 against one of the best GK's in the game.

Hmmmm, you were specifically talking about Sunday's game. But true to form, when your argument comes unstuck you try to change tack.
I don't think he's a particularly good player. Liverpool and Chelsea might agree that he's a mid table Premier League striker at best. Was good at Bournmouth but that was probably his level. Sorry if that bothered you.

That lasted well, it takes a while to get into the pattern of the new club and gaffa. Did well this morning.
Good. I hope he fires Tottenham into the top 4 because that's where they want to be. I'm not a fan of him myself, I think he's an average mid table striker and not worth the £55m + £10m that Tottenham paid for him....

Hopefully he turns out to be prove me wrong. Not that it's gonna effect my life much....

Doesn’t bother me mate, I don’t particularly care one way or the other how Salanke goes. I was just amused that your smart-arsed prediction fell flat.

So perhaps I'll refrain from critiquing any of Ange's players

So when he goes another 3 or 4 games without a goal or shot on target you'll be also impressed with my smart armed prediction that he is shit?
