The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Why can't Ange rotate Dragusin in Premier League games, perhaps at least against lesser Premier League teams in order to nurture three great centre backs, rather than keep using Romero and Van de Ven until one of them gets injured from over-use - as we just saw VDV pull another hamstring; then Dragusin comes in with lesser playing experience. See how Ange drives Van de Ven into the ground until VDV gets injured from a significant time out. I think Dragusin's cameos in the Premier League and with Romania at the Euros showed that Dragusin is worthy of more game time with Tottenham.

I think Ange's stubbornness that he exhibited in his final months with the Socceroos is starting to become know to the Tottenham fans.

So perhaps I'll refrain from critiquing any of Ange's players

So when he goes another 3 or 4 games without a goal or shot on target you'll be also impressed with my smart armed prediction that he is shit?
You have assumed incorrectly. Time for you to move on from your Solanke obsession.

Tough game in Turkey. This league structure makes some games throwable. I see more and more now the strain of the calendar but rotation and planning is key. A bit of injury and suspension luck too. Some clubs have slightly larger than average squads with fewer games and no injuries and it can be hard to share the playing time around.

I just dont understand the starting lineup.... has he seen what Turkey is like on a european night? Not the game to be playing youngsters. Sarr and Bentancaur should of at least started and played an hour. Midfield non-existent at times. Bit of arrogance from Ange tonight.

Archie Gray was the only one who did well. Davies is absolute dog shit.

Yeah odd game .... Gala was clinical with their chances though....

Atmosphere looked nuts too .... Turks are hilarious. Un-ironically displaying a massive free Palestine banner next to an unrecognised military occupied Northern Cyprus flag..... hahahahahah they make me laugh so much.

don't think its arrogance jas88, its a thin squad lacking depth, sure europa is a goal but the guns/main starters saved for the EPL the way I see it.
Playing Gala away isn't easy even for a top4 club.
I'd luv to be in the crowd there its nuts as MSC mentioned.

What do we think he still needs? Another CB? maybe LB? Watching the game back just crazy amount of turnovers.

Tottenham are so inconsistent. I'm not sure if its depth, or a need for leadership or an aggressive game plan running into elite competition, and a need for more pragmatism based on game scenarios. A bit of all.

It's intetesting to see that Tottenham barely ever draw. They either dominate or burn.

Build proper depth at CB and CM and they'll be much more solid. Left back too.

They need depth on the wings too. Son is getting older, I'm not convinced Johnson is first team quality if they want to win the EPL so they need a right winger who is ready. Odobert still has some ways to go.

As with a lot of things, success can come from incremental build and time. But this is in contrast to modern football's obsession with instant success. All that being said, I have watched a fair few Spurs games under Ange and this season so far it is hard to judge what spurs team is going to show up on any given gameday. It does make it interesting to watch. Especially as you are almost always guaranteed goals.

If Chelsea and Arsenal draw and Tottenham win, Tottenham will jump to 5th on goal difference.
