We know we can't change the way they think at FA, but a start is good, as indicated by South recently.
I also want full H & A seasons.
I hate the way FA/APL drip feed the football community with regard to any progress.
Sure mate, a start, any start, is good but this conferenced super league rubbish is just a bullshit attempt by FA to NOT have to pay back the "foundation 8" whilst still doing the bidding of the APL .... watch they'll end up stuffing it up completely and then folding their hands smugly and saying ... "well, we tried"

Think about the 4 champions league conferences for a moment.... South will (in the interest in saving costs) be pitted against Preston .. so in 2025 we will play the "old enemy" 4 times, possibly 2-3 more depending on NPL finals and Australia cup draw, when previously we hadn't faced them in a decade..... why, you ask?

Well in this years Australia cup they drew 6.5k to BT Connor and somebody in FA gimp land got a chubby at all the moolah they can make... 6.5k in one game? Imagine how that reflects x6 they cry... lets get some derbies cooking folks..... AAARRRRGGGGHHH I hate this whole thing WHY CANT WE EVER HAVE PROPER FOOTBALL in this country. Doesnt ANYONE else want this?

That may well be the case in NSW and Victoria but I’m sorry Mono, there is more to football in Australia than you and your one little club. I’m reasonably sure the “Premiers” of QLD, ACT, SA, WA, Tas will be happy to be competing on a national stage. The info released by the FA clearly states that 6 of the 14 teams didn’t have the financials, did you really want an 8 team comp with only teams from NSW and Victoria playing in a so-called “National” Second Tier? That was never going to succeed. At least it’s something and starting from somewhere. Who says the clubs will be “bled dry” by competing? For all we know, FA are covering the clubs’ travel costs. We don’t know. Stop the negativity. Maybe it makes you personally feel good but it doesn’t help. Do you really love football? Or just South Melbourne and some team over in Greece?
Is it though??? SO what happens when (as is pretty likely) Avondale, Preston, South and maybe even Victory finish 1-4 in the NPL VIC next year, who will be the "premier" club from Victoria to compete in this shitshow mickey mouse plastic league... 5th place?

I don't see the point of it.

The point of a proper NST is to provide a bridge between NPL and Z..sorry ..A-liga competitions...a higher level for more players to compete in on a regular basis, a place for more coaches to be tested at a higher level on a regular basis and ultimately an opportunity for promotion for well run clubs.

This achieves none of those things. Its like a glorified NPL national playoff that we had a few years ago.

IF the NSD's current incarnation is a stepping stone (2 years max) its fine. However if it continues for a number of years in this current format not changing, what your are saying is spot on..
SIlver lining is we should get a better picture of where we are at before the champions league starts next year

Adelaide city can pay the fee now apparently, suncoast can too but need some flexibility from fq

Weirdly enough suncoast started an academy in england for aussie players

I remember them talking about the academy a while ago but didn't realise it actually happened. We need a full breakdown / article of the NPL Queensland debacle, its so confusing and weird regarding that whole situation.
Story in england i heard on the radio over here. They welcomed them really warmly

If adelaide city get through its just a matter of one more fa playing ball whether qld, act or tas....

When are queenslanf fa elections?

Yeah I was also wondering about the FA elections if JJ's term ends next month. Who would vote on that? Would the federations have that 50%+ share? Maybe JJ is trying to appease them to earn another term. I don't know, just trying to understand it all.

And yet Sunshine Coast, as it I understand it, wont have the opportunity to play in this glorious second division as they have been disaffiliated from Football QLD and therefore cant possibly finish premiers next year to get a "golden ticket" to the big dance....

I really like Cvetkovski's and the young boards approach to the whole revival of Preston these past years.... its paying off for their club, in spades.... Im not sure on the whole signing North Macedonian players and focusing on that aspect of their fanbase to the detriment of their other players and fans but if that's what they figure works for them then so be it.....
