Impossible, Havent you heard of the thousands of years of war between Greeks and Croats and how that trickled down into pitched battles in the NSL, so much blood.......
Cmon we only had to involve flags of all the rest of the balkans to find a reason for tension.. A serb flag here, a north macedonian one there a turkish chant for good measure also, and it became join the dots..Except to the anglos it brought on fears of a barbarian invasion! 😛

No, its an interesting (if very sad) topic... This dumbing down of the game to sell to consumers who value celebrity over sport is only going to grow.... There is too much money involved.... The only good news is that this sort of crap doesnt last very long until the next shiny thing comes along... Are the Aleague franchises still doing their e sports computer game league for example?

It's a bit of a fascinating situation at the moment. Historically, the new generation has pretty much followed in the footsteps of the previous generation when it comes to watching sports. There has always been a new batch of young people filling the seats as the previous ones grow older. However this time around they haven't been doing so in the same numbers. It's likely a direct result of mobile devices and social media prioritising short-form content over long-form content. Apparently, statistically, Gen-Z don't even watch movies anymore. They definitely don't go to the cinema, and if they do watch a movie on a streaming service they are less likely to watch start-to-finish and will likely be looking at other stuff on their phones at the same time. I'm not passing judgement, to each their own. However, it is a challenge sports will be facing, with no easy solution.

I mean for Australia they've priced out so many people and its spread over that many apps its no wonder younger generations aren't interested.

Ucl/Well- need stan + sport upgrade
Epl - optus
Serie a / bundesliga - bein
A - league paramount

Youtube is free and you can basically access anything, anytime anywhere without a ridiculous subscription model.

Add in the cost of going to games and jerseys/supporter wear

Id say many are watching but on certain devices that are frowned up by the leagues and head honchos

Its scary (at least to me) to read you crystallise the way things are... Imagine a world without proper sport?

Ok. So a couple of false equivalences were made in that video. UFC is NOT MMA. The whole narrative is bullshit and I hate it.

Football has only itself to blame. You can't expect people to fork out such a ridiculous amount of money for a few games on the weekend and some during the week. It's unsustainable.

This is a much needed wake up call.
