Ball on sideline. Nearest opponent 20m away. Miller to McGree fine. McGree turns and passes to our defence. Why don't they see the space and go on a run together? We're running at faces not spaces.

That infuriated me. No urgency at all, we’d rather muck around with it between the back 3.
 
He's definitely hurt but the momentum drop for Australia here is always a concern. Ref getting Bahrain to work fast.

If this player jump off the stretcher then an immediate yellow.
 
Omg guys, this team. Always on the ground. Frustrates me so much. I mean it's not as bad as Oman back in the day. At least this seems like a proper injury this time and not a play to waste time. Hope he recovers okay.

Pro football never ceases to amaze me. As kids we'd roadmap moments in games and say to your mate 'OK space let's go together' and you'd have another you'd know would be St the far post. These guys are just so disjointed and casual.

Of course good teams have a roadmap.
 
Miller hanging in slots well in final third. Missing is that we need to be running onto it and cutting in.
 
Irvine should know better. 1min of added left. Has options forward and passes back to Matthews under pressure who gives it to them. Miller again just then pirouetting and losing it from a throw. There's no technical skill in him.

I'll take the half and I'm pleased with some areas. Goodwin needs to roam more. McGree one or two good bits but also casual. Call it patience I guess.
 
Well we're ahead. That is great. Time to apply pressure in the 2nd half and get another 1 or 2 away. The hosts are poor.
 
Get Balard on 60 minute mark criminal he never started playing well in Holland and we go first to aleague players
 
Goodwin is much less effective on the right. I get that Popovic apparently wants his attacking midfielders cutting in on to their reverse foot, but it wouldn’t hurt for Goodwin and McGree to swap over. McGree doesn’t play wide so much so Miller can still be the widest attacker, and Behich isn’t get up high that much anyway, so Goodwin could use the wide space on the left.
 
Infuriating watching obvious forward options continually being ignored. Beat player, through ball, beat the last line, pass backwards! Rinse and repeat.

to be fair most of the time I saw that the forward had mistimed his run so we had to recycle. There might have been some exceptions

I guess with all the changes popa is sacrificing cohesion for competition for spots and fitness
