As I stated above, the new station location isn't at the proposed site at Ironbark fields. Not sure if this image is working, but...
- the red circle is the current Tarneit station.
- the blue circle is where the new station will be.
- the green circle is the stadium location.
- the purple circle is the original station site.

I will state that there still may eventually be a train station built at the site of the purple circle, but its not happening in the short term.

No station at the stadium? Sold another dud promise.

I'm sounding like a broken record here, but the state government relocated the station site to Davis Rd as they are building a big shopping mall there. It's not WU's fault the station site was moved. I'm pretty certain they still plan to build a train station there one day, but it’s now not in the short term plans. It might not happen until now the Tarneit corridor is electrified… which has been put on the backburner for now.

You must have infinite patience I applaud your zeal for this new entitiy.. This coming December it is coming up to 6 years since WMG were gifted a participation franchise in the Ponzi league and still not one dollar of their own money has been spent on infrastructure (although I believe they may have had to fork out for the access road works to the council's training field) despite it being a core promise and reportedly the reason why Nikou and Gallop were so eager to include them....

I may be imagining things however Im fairly certain that if an "effnik" club made and failed to keep the same promises your attitude (and that of many others) may not have been as accommodating? I understand your, and many others. desire to see this ambitious endeavour bear fruit but surely there must be some doubt by now? 6 years is nearly a third of the life of the Aleague...

and 2024 marks 20 years since SMH last played in a domestic/national football league. But that's OK, you'll have your Mickey Mouse 2 month NSD tournament in 2025.

Yeah because Western United are run by well known skips such as Sourasis, Horvat and Aloisi

Wow, OK didnt expect such a violent reaction.

In 20 years SMH has applied 5 times to join the Aleague with financials, academy and stadium in PLACE ... no need to wait but yeah whatever it wasn't racism according you.... Yes we'll have our Mickey Mouse NSD tournament at the same time as you watch the tumbleweeds roll by in your expansion corridor. I take it you are not interested and thats great, its not really targeted at the franchise market... best stay away.

As for who or what WU is run by, who gives a shit? If you think Horvat and Sourassis are "well known" perhaps you should get out more?

When you get owned, why do always find a way to fit Racism in to your non violent replies. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Nope arse is still well and truly here but fair call on the slave trade I suppose. I had forgotten about Australia's shameful past with Black-birding in the sugar cane fields of QLD and the stolen generation... At least KRudd made some amends by forcing parliament to issue an apology of sorts...

That's where the cheap land is. What is your alternative suggestion? Serious question - I don't know Melbourne.
Personally. mid density housing in inner, or near inner suburbs along train lines makes a lot more sense to me... Both infrastructure and planning wise... Melbourne is a giant wagon-wheel, the further out you go, the more it looks like a Mad Max apocalypse happeend :)

Thanks - yeah, makes sense. And yeah, couple of years ago on travels I did pass through the Tarneit area. Man, it looked unappealing. But sure as hell the development is going ahead. Too much money involved now.

There WAS money 6 years ago... how much of it is still around, your guess is as good as mine ?

If you don't mind me asking, what is the predominant ethnicity out there?

Back when I was there last in 2017 it was predominantly middle class Indian?

I say this because it didn't exactly seem like the boom town prescribed.

Not sure but there are a lot of white pyjama pants with red stains on them hanging from the clotheslines..... :P

The original Riverdale Station MUST be built. Only 800 metres away from the stadium, and they were trying to get it moved 200m closer!

Bring in the conspiracy theories... watch the AFL/governments step in to make sure this doesn't get built.
