For as much as I dislike Popas selections the idea he wouldn't choose someone because they wanted to be called up to a point they are making public statements to the effect sounds a bridge too far.
The key thing I don't like in reference to the call ups is he's not giving direction as to how to be called up. He goes with Bratten and Caceres, I take it because they're veterans that have leadership potential, and in the same breath choosing yengi (a clubless player) and Okon jr who's playing Benfica B's. He prioritizes Teague and O'Neill over Triantis and Balard.
Atleast with Ange and Arnie, they stated publicly overseas was a priority, and match time. Popa's selections process seems to be jobs for the boys, the boys sons, anyone over 32. How is it professional?
