A-league attendances 24/25

Yeah, I was watching and waiting to see if another bay would be released, but bit the bullet last week. 1st home game of the season has been the only mildly interesting one for the last couple of seasons. After that it becomes a matter of choosing which away team to view as a neutral. What was the reason for leaving Redcliffe again?
It’s a very long drive for most people

Yeah I think because it was too far away for most fans and a lack of visibility for the club as a whole playing out there. They had some poor crowds back at Suncorp last season, especially with their break even attendance at Suncorp being around 10k each game.

Many thought Redcliffe was too far away. I personally live 5 minutes from Redcliffe now so was good for me but I agree it shouldn't have been the long term option. I'm just baffled they have closed more than three quarters of the stadium for the opening game. You think they'd be trying to get as big crowd as possible, I'm sure there will be many people like us not going because there are no tickets available.

So Melbourne City should perish? Fairly sure they are 3rd last behind WU and Bulls?
They're not going anywhere.

"In December, Silver Lake purchased a minority 33.3% stake in the Australian Professional Leagues, otherwise known as the APL. The group is responsible for organising Australia's national association football leagues, being the A-League Men, A-League Women and A-League Youth, with Silver Lake also having a stake in City Football Group, who own A-League club Melbourne City FC "

Im confused Mid.... so you feel that the "solution" to all three of your points above is to look at what the MLS is doing and continue down the path of closed shop, stand alone league? How does that "connect to park teams" and or "unite the football community"? Respect is a two way street mate and the APL doesn't even respect its own fans let alone anyone else in Australian football.
No I never said that about the MLS.

What I said was the MLS get good crowds and crowd revenue exceeds broadcast revenue by a lot. As a league we seem to rely to much on broadcast revenue.

As to my three points I did not offer any solutions simply answered if fixed our crowds would lift

Is that still the case.

Willing to be corrected but I through Silver lake pulled the pin and converted their investment to a interest bearing loan.

This is what has caused the club reduction in payments

Well that was certainly a game.....a lot of credit for sfcs geigenpressing was given to zdrillic

Was zdrillic the brains?

I read this earlier in last season after Zdrillic arrived at SFC. That SFC's impoved performance coincided with DZ's tenure as a assistant coach, because of his impartation of the concept after his UEFA sojourn.

He as been an assistant to Rangnick in Europe, who has been a progenitor of gegenpressing.

Thanks for posting the crowd numbers for round 2 again, WAH.

Disappointing that Macarthur and Western U crowds are so small.

When Western United play AL games in Hobart, we get better crowds that Macarthur and WU do at home, with virtually no mainstream media support or interest. So one can imagine with the excellent Stamoulis/Belteky bid we are disappointed not being awarded an AL team by Gallop!

I was also disappointed to see Auckland drop so much from week 1, albeit it was still a good crowd of close to 15 000.

I was thinking of rado vidosic who was said to be the brains behind Ange's success at roar. Rado then struggled later....I worry that something similar might be the case with Zdrillic (though of course I wish him the best!)

If Pasquali is reading this, I've suddenly lost my function to quote the quote and respond to individual posts that other posters make? I can only make generic ones ATM.

I was going to welcome the first sage post I've seen from a former Anarchy Forum member in John Kasich suggesting that fans be placed on one side of the ground for the cameras.

Welcome to the forum, John Kasich. May your manifest maturity and civility rub off on your cohorts, whilst they are still G and G members. Go to the top of the class of former Anarchy posters joining this forum!

Sorry mate, I must have misunderstood your intentions then.

Yep, it's weird, kinda like they've admitted defeat for another year already. I can see the Redcliffe light towers from my front window, but still went to more NPL games last season. 🤷‍♂️
