A-league attendances 24/25

By that same token, so is the pitch invasion.
The potential fans weren't really affected by the GF deal, but the invasion was completely toxic to anyone who saw the news. If not something that's black and white, done and undone. It's just done... and only time, PR, and good deeds will blur that memory over time.

The grand final is old news but it still was a fart in the room after the world cup.

Crowds up 14% on same time last year.

This has been achieved with WSW, Roar, PG, Jets, all having a number of poor seasons in a row but all capable of big increases with a couple of years of decent form.

Further MV, if they can find form or say flare they should lift their crowds .

Still well away from imo the 15k average needed but looking better than a couple of years ago

Thats a bit like saying "wooohooo interest rates are down 0.25% from last year" isnt it mate?

Actually checked some figures, take away WU n Cows and the crowd average is 10,333.

That's almost on par with many seasons and this Inspite of WSW, Roar, PG, Jets having a number of poor seasons in a row.

I am not celebrating but hhhhhmmmmm it looks a lot better than say three years ago and now Danny T has gone it just appears to be better run.

If WSE, Roar, PG, Jets have a couple of good years we may edge closer to where we need to be.

Cows a huge worry IMO, I hope they get their act together sooner rather than later.

I was a bit more pessimistic on the show because when I compared like with like there was a plateau from last season (I removed auckland, derbies and unite round then do the first 18 rounds from both seasons). Having said that we are currently above last years end of season average so hopefully we finish strong

Cant believe the NZ derby isn't on FTA, The game will have the biggest crowd for this round and put the spot light on Vuc vs City to man up with fans.

Is that excluding all matches of WU and Cows? Or just their home matches?
Thing is, these clubs are also usually the lowest attended when they are the away teams. Take them out of the equation altogether and things looks a little heathier.

But Victory, City, Roar, Jets, Perth, and Wanderers all still suck and nowhere near their best numbers. Half the league archored to the floor. At least Roar and Jets have shown an uptick this season. Reds, Auckland, Sydney and Wellington the shining lights so far.

Just there home matches.

My point about, WSW, Roar, PG & Jets is they could all double their crowds with two decent years.... MV also needs to play a little better... if that happened it would add to the average crowd numbers...

I guess but I think I am correct... we hit rock bottom a couple of years ago and are starting to recover... well thats what these things show...

Victory is a strange one, team currently sits 3rd, team has been top 4 for past 3 seasons basically so its not exactly a Perth/Roar situation.

Its hard not to think the pitch invasion has played a big part. The derby with City is still a big "event match" which i think the upcoming weekend will show, but the whole thing has lost a heap of mainstream appeal down here in terms of week in week out interest.

Excluding numbers is a bit misleading though. Like it or not, those are the averages. The only numbers that could be removed to compare to previous seasons is Auckland as they were not in the competition. Then it's a like for like.
WU are filling their little venue each week. The number might be low, but they are playing at a suitable sized venue so they are achieving 80-90% capacity. No other club can make that claim. Even AU are usually around 70-75% capacity, whereas SFC are lucky to hit 30% capacity.

MV vs NIX - 9374 (31.2%)
MC vs PG - 4441 (14.8%)
WU vs AUC - 3862 (85.8%)
AU vs NJ - 10722 (71.5%)
WSW vs MAC - 9243 (30.8%)

Sure but celebrating increasing crowd averages by removing the two worst attended clubs BUT still including the bright new shiny franchise from Auckland which is having a 1st year bump isnt exactly a genuine reflection of the leagues growth .... surely?
Everyone sees things differently. People are allowed a different view to yourself. I agree on the taking clubs out, bit, it is what it is, nothing changes that.

Remember how excited you were ,when your shiny new handpicked league was announced ? :ROFLMAO:
