What are you talking about mate?

It’s not only our mateship, but it’s our ability to get tough when the tough gets going, our bravery and humour, and unique blend of resilience and irreverence.

Get up there Cazaly!
Problem solved, "Merrick the Disruptor" pty ltd has now made it so that NPL clubs can't field international keepers.... we are saved.

Not the greatest but deserves to be rated.Postecoglu,BVM and Arnie all trusted him.His lack of height was a disadvantage and perhaps Langerak would have done better but that is all spilt milk
Ryan deserves to be rated... very poorly

Nah, did OK despite his limitations... just shouldn't have been incumbent for as long as he was....
Pretty much my view. He used to freak me out when he was still at CCM with his reckless charges out of the box - which he still does in the NT at times.

Cost us badly with howlers in the WC against Netherlands and Argentina. Seem to remember one or two others also. I reckon Izzo or Gauci would've saved that near post goal against Bahrain, despite the deflection. It wasn't that fast.

Time to go.

Yep - and considering during his tenure the GK became a sweeper as such his distribution and technique scared the crap out of me many times at NT games.
He wasn’t confident as you’d like to see.

I’d be interested in Bowden’s pov

I think it's important to judge a player against the era they're from. Schwarzer and Bosnich weren't great with their feet but it wasn't that important in their era either. If it was my bet is they'd have developed better footskills, but we'll never know.
The difference between Schwarzer and Bosnich is professionalism vs pure talent. When you saw Schwarzer stripped down you know he worked hard. Same can't be said of Bosnich. He always had tight hamstrings which meant that his options playing out from the back were severely restricted. (Scholes said as much and he had the same problem later at CCM) Would he have put in the effort to combat that. Maybe not. It all came too easily for him.

should not be in the discussion. Only Schwarzer and Bosnich do in my opinion. Kalac was a donkey for us despite his club efforts.

This is why Schwarzer is the best by far in my opinion. So consistent for us, and apart from Japan 2006, he was immense on many big occasions

Will just add Schwarzer was ordinary at playing out from the back. Launched 90% of his takes over the halfway line.

Don't know how you can go past Bosnich. While we will always lament the wasted career and wonder what might have been, he was the starting goalkeeper in the Man Utd when they won the EPL in 99-00. No one else has reached those heights.

Depends how you look at it. I preferred to look at it as Australia's NT greatest keeper.

true mate, he got a EPL winners medal, they alredy had it in the bag winning by 18points - he played 23 of 38games.
MU won the seson before and the following 00/01.
He rejected a loan in 00 being out of favour but hoped to win back the spot over Barthez not happen And ironically 00 is when MS took the NT GK spot.
He contributed no doubt they were the GUN EPL side that period BUT near on under 2 Club MU seasons does not make him No1 imo.
I like Bozza unlike some but MS's longer Club/NT record just makes total sense.

I was just talking about the peak of Bosnich's career i.e. he was the only one to make it to the absolute top.

In terms of longevity in the top league, Schwarzer obviously has it over everyone.

But it's not as if Bosnich was only a 1 hit wonder. He played 179 EPL/First Division games with Aston Villa on top of his 26 EPL/Div1 games with ManUtd and 5 with Chelsea. And I think most of us don't realise how good the Villa side Bosnich played for was. When he was the main keeper they won the League Cup in 93-4 and 95-6; and came 2nd in the EPL (92-93) as well as 4th (95-96), 5th, 6th, and 7th.

If I had to pick one for Australian keeper I'd definitely pick Schwarzer and have more love for him than Bosnich. But I don't think we've had anyone hit the heights that Bosnich did.

Kama I hear ya.
And I was watching Bozza at Villa being I’m labelled the cherished eurosnob by randoms in this tin pot football world here.
He was dam good agree.
I was very saddened he screwed up !
