You recommend any cheap bulldogs players that will be good for my reserves that will get minutes this year?
HD is your man at this stage of the season… I can’t even look until a week out from TLT… I can’t let it consume all my waking hours for more than 28 weeks…

Expectations for this season.
Top 4 is the aim, but I doubt that we can make a GF.
Top 8 is the Expectation, it will be disappointing if we don't at least match last season in effort and execution.

I expect us to improve, but most sides will improve, Broncos and Souths likely to be big improves, Sharks might take the next step. Tigers will be a lot better.

2 players hold the key for us Marhoney and Sexton. I was disappointed in some aspects of both players games at the backend of last season.

Marhoney needs to stop giving away so many dumb penalties and focus more on just playing his role.

Sexton needs to get better at taking charge and icing opportunities close to the try line.

At their best, both players have what we need, young guys at the club are not yet ready to step into those roles.

We should have more punch up the middle. Marhoney should work on getting big forwards into space close to the try line. Sexton should have a bit more time and field position, roll the dice and make it count. Anything a halfback tries that the opposition doesn't expect usually works out, play the percentages, but add variety. You don't go to the casino to be a spectator, fans will be happy to see players trying things.

A few too many errors, but some young guys getting valuable experience at this level.

Good to see Toddy and Ratu score trys,

I hope most of the squad get a run especially Underhill, Cochrane, Reado and Tia.

Young Reado is the son of a club legend and one of my favourite players.

Toughness starts at birth in the Reado clan. Probably change tractor tyres before they can walk. 😉

So long as we spoil the commentators Galvin wankfest I’ll be happy… it’s almost Moses like…

Only real takeaways -
O’Neill and Todd solid prospects…
DSF looks fit…
Pretty much agree, Todd the stand out.

Todd, O'Neill and Cochrane played up to my expectations.
I had a hunch DSF might be solid.

Overall young backs made plenty of errors and our props didn't miss many tackles.

The names we mentioned Taffe and Ratu might play the next trial.

Seemed like we were trying hard to gift them a draw at the end,

I think that the young guys on both sides get too pumped up and that leads to errors.

40/20 from Tia was good, but I don't know that he did enough. O'Neill has more experience, he played reserve grade and a trial last year.

Tia played in the Flegg GF, I think because Woods was out.

Tia is a real mixed bag, some brilliant plays and some not so good plays. But I think he might turn into a great 14.

Side named for trail against Broncos.
Surprising that Todd, DSF and Cochrane were not named.

We have injuries to Kiraz and Tuala. That explains the young backs getting a run.

O’Neill and Tia there on merit, surprised that Todd isn’t getting a run.

No Toups is another surprise, might be injured.

My guess is that we are building on the combinations from last season, but giving a few more guys a run off the bench would have been ok.

Kiraz news a kick in the guts…
Sounds like he might be out for a while.

We have good depth on the wing, centre is the one position where we are short.

I will not be surprised if Hayes plays centre with the extended bench being a complete backline swap after 60 mins.

Forwards wise I think Cirro is focused on defence and the aim this game is to re-establish our defence from last season.

Will be hot in QLD, not great conditions for big guys and Cirro can still add players.

Gabrael is normally a good defensive centre, but all 3 Tigers trys wre on that edge. The young winger Gethro made a few defensive errors, he is very young and inexperienced.

As far as Cirro is concerned defence seems non-negotiable.

Cirro was annoyed about the first try, the other 2 might have been worse.

Not sure why Toups isn't playing.

I would be happy to have Kiraz back on deck and firing at the business end.

D wins Ps…

Their ain’t no business end without a 50/50 start to the first half of the season… Best draw we’ve had in a while… Best Team we’ve had in a loooong while… We know Willo can do the job when fit.. the two young blokes were reasonable for a trial…

I’m thinking Crutch on the wing dummying to the front row of the grandstand and The Fish at centre is the way to go…. 😳😳😳

Cirro is always annoyed at lapses in D… which I like…

I think DSF might be paying the price for a few too many 6-agains in the trial.

Also no Hutch, with O'Neill and Tia selected fair enough on trial form.

I also thought that Cochrane shaded Taaffe in the trial, but Taffee is top 30 and Cochrane is young.

Toups is injured.

I would add one more bigger body to the trial side. I know think that Todd is the only contender.

I also like how Cirro coaches, defence is the key to us winning games, other teams have more X-Factor players.

Very few teams leak a lot of points and make the 8. Even fewer make week 2.

Overall our depth is pretty good, centre is the only question mark. I thought both centres were OK in the trail, bit Cirro has higher standards than me.

A few too many errors in the first half, Broncos a bit too good so far.

Good workout for the defence.

Need a bit more from our senior players.

Cirro will not be happy about the Broncos scoring 6 tries.

Perhaps a bit rusty, hopefully no suspensions and we are better for the run.

Good to see the young players get some game time.
