Gallop wasn't going to improve the ride much better despite Wilson's attack on the game, the troubles occurred by the way without the NSL club's Shark might I add but the AL tribalism no diff what you are against of the past.
Even I never wanted to venture to parramata after 2 attempts with my family.
The AL had less franchise's back then and endured the honeymoon, it was never going to sustain those early numbers.
The NPL supporters are not part of the AL/lack of support infighting, the AL is its own owrst enemy and supporters who have caused probs to this day just as in the way back past.
Own it mate.

United ? more than anything its the AL side of the fence who don't want unity generally, as time has progressed the NPL Clubs don't need the AL to survive, it will carry on and hopefully the new competiton will improve looking ahead.
I really don't wish your Clubs being involved but for the greater good of the game ahead it should all be combined but I don't think your governace side will accept.
I think you guys (your AL) need us more than the NPL needs you in the end.

Crawford report actually DIDN'T recommend killing the NSL at all .....

Who said I had a problem with "ethnics"? You made that conclusion yourself, which I don't.

I'm happily married to one.

What I have a problem is is these monocultural ethnic social clubs who bring their emotional baggage, hatred and prejudices from the old country to here.

It is well known that clubs Sydney United and Melbourne Knights had the worst behaved fans in the old NSL and the majority of the public wanted nothing to do with it.

It's why mainstream clubs like Northern Spirit (before the ill-fated takeover by Scottish giants Rangers), Perth Glory (in the Nick Tana era) and Adelaide United had the bumper crowds that they did, because the entire communities felt included where they weren't in these European social clubs.

Shark, I never said as such made no conclusion as well but responding what/how I read your comments.
If you mis understand no worries I'm not the type to swear accuse.

By the way re Spirit, I went to every game I could as well as attending Lambert/Edensor games when we could.
I live that way, northern burbs/beachs was STARVING for top flight football hence the good crowds, infact a good mate of mine was one of the sponsers of the Team.
It was a NO brainer having good attendances orginally why as mentioned.
Plenty of us aussie ethnics on the northern burbs/beachs, infact near on every corner hamburger shop was greek owned and most fruit vegey shops were italians go figure.
Everyone who attended those games were people no diff to my migrant Dad - as I mentioned don't tar all with the same brush.

My take on his posts is he has a dislike towards clubs he believes are australians 2nd and ethnic first. Meanwhile your belief is that clubs should have the right to identify however they choose fit. Would that be correct?

That's not what I said at all.

I have absolutely no issue with "ethnics" at all, I've been happily married to one for a decade.

What I have an issue with is monocultural football clubs who make it feel like no one outside that group is welcome.

That has always been the perception of those clubs whether you disagree or not.

I guess you would have to ask the sharkmeister to tell you what he thinks but I dont believe he is allowed to believe that these clubs are Australian at all, 1st, 2nd or 5th..... Its the same old same old same old story every single time for decades now... Australianess is somehow confined to what one particularly nasty group of people choose to define it as... A bunch of Italian Nonnas making pasata , a bunch of Serb old dudes dringing slivovic, and a bunch of Croatian kids wearing red and white check jerseys chanting at the soccer are ALL as true blue dinky die Australian as having pork gyros on Easter Sunday and celebrating Chinese New Year with crackers and dragons to me...... THATS Multiculturalism... not whatever abomination Lowy peddled to these gullible fools 20 years ago.....

Its gotten to the point were its wearing very thin.... If football fans DON'T like a particular club, sure no problem, if they dont want a second division because they think the APL deserves the money, sure thats their oppinion, if they dont wan't promotion relegation again sure that an opinion but I WILL NOT BE TOLD I AM NOT AUSTRALIAN NOR IS MY CLUB ANYMORE ... enough.

I no longer care what you have an issue with.... your stance is clear.... If you feel that a suburban football club threatens your identity that on you, not them.

and yet I can walk into Edensor park tomorrow and INSTANTLY be made to feel welcome, Ill get a feed, Ill get plenty to drink, Ill probably get a whole heap of shit banter about being a Greek, but at the end of the day its about football....

There is not right or wrong perception, only right or wrong opinions....

I DO NOT and I repeat I DO NOT have an issue with "ethnics" whatsoever.

If I did I wouldn't be happily married to one.

Simple fact is whether that perception is reality or not, the perception is these monocultural social clubs give off the perception they are exclusive and people outside those groups aren't welcome.

That's always been the perception from society whether you agree or disagree that is the perception.
