Opinion on how you unite behind the game varies wildly which is the problem.

I'd like to see pro-rel with the NSD teams and AL. I don't see why the AL clubs should feel so threatened. They're either strong enough and survive. Or not.

Im noit against including ALeague clubs in a national pyramid, but as I have said, and as it appears from an outsiders perspective, they dont WANT to be included.... Whether its because they dont feel able to survive the drop or they dont want to abandon the model of selling license to the next bidder.... Ill let others make their own minds up but it certainly seems like any chance of a connection between the 11 A league Australian Clubs and the 1000+ other Australian clubs is further than it has EVER been.

I was talking about nationalist (in some cases fascist) monocultural ethnic social clubs which ARE against what modern day Australia is about.

You've drawn a fucking long bow to say I'm a One Nation supporter because I believe monocultural ethnic social clubs should be consigned to the dustbin of history.

overall this path is the most logical way to head towards but the complications due to AL/license's paid and ongoing investing and debt accured is a major stumbling issue for all parties ie APL and in the middle of it the FA who are the Governers of the game overall being the peace pipe holders.
Putting aside the NPL Clubs the challenge is getting a compramise with the APL and fellow Licensee's to come to party and structure 1 major top league - the 11 AL + 8 approved Championship clubs makes a 19 Club H/A comp with substance. (obviously a even number is more ideal)
Kick that off and in the background elevate the Div2 comp NPL Clubs approved, the NPL Clubs that have been putting their hat in the ring and incl the AL academy teams currently in NPL.
P/R then can be looked into and actioned.
Naturally alot of if's but's - some Clubs may not have the resource but this can be supported all working together and the FA helping behind the scenes importantly getting a streaming partner kicking in amongst other sponsers.
I could be talking utter nonsense but as I keep saying current 2 models does not help us at all.

All clubs need to start somewhere. I think some AL clubs have developed identities and others have struggled. I wouldn't call them all plastic.

I know this has gotten heated but what do you think the risks are with the NSD?

If the idea isn't to connect the NSD to the AL at some point and it is just running separately and in parallel I don't see the point of it.

If it is to connect them I think that's a good thing for the game. There are so many stumbling blocks to it. @LFC mentioned the license fees and I agree with him. It's messy. As an AL fan I think we should just suck that up for the good of the game.

I'm just extremely wary of it all.

The old NSL was binned 21 years ago for a reason and here we are bringing back the same old problems the Crawford Report was initiated for in the first place.

We want the game to be united but it seems there are people who don't want it to be.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest would we be having this conversation if the Gallop administration hadn't got sucked in after that infamous shame file article written by the late Daily Telegraph sports journo Rebecca Wilson?

It seems like the game has gone backwards in a big way since then.

Up until that period the game had pretty much put itself as the major football code behind the NRL & AFL.

Since then there's been nothing but the same old infighting that has plagued the sport for decades.
