Introduce yourself here (again)

Suppose I should do this too. Just checked, I joined 442 forum fourteen years ago so have seen a lot of comings and goings on there, and although it's only early days here it looks promising that it may get somewhere near the vitality that 442 had in its heyday. I even used to like reading the weird posters on 442 - who can remember Remote Control, tHe ..guY WHO alwaYS...usedTo pOSt ....sOMEtHing..LiKe......this? And he always posted antagonistic stuff.

I always check posts at least once a day normally, and read them with interest, but my posting is a bit more spasmodic.

I live in Brisbane, but come originally from country Qld (anyone recognise the trophy in my avatar?) Played for quite a few years in the Queensland XXXX/Premier League many years ago, now I coach in the league a couple rungs below the Queensland NPL. I was always a goalkeeper, and one of my pet hates these days is how most keepers at the top level deliberately parry the ball back rather than catch it, although in fairness I think that the modern ball travels at a higher velocity than those in my playing days. But, the glove technology these days should mean that you can catch anything!!! I was about 20 when the latex gloves became available, and I remember being amazed then at how easy it was to catch a ball compared to bare hands, or the old style gloves which you only wore if it was wet.

good to see ya Keeper, damn yer Remote C what a right royal PIA haha reading those posts.
Good on you coaching maybe our mate can give a tip haha you know who hehe
I'm trying to make out the green white stipe socks ???????

Hey don't show your age, I might mention the high ankle boots I started off with and those bog heavy leather balls like cement when playing in the rain going for a header, wtf was concussion considered LOL.

Hello I am Mirko Ozhulovic, a proper football fan. I like football and porno and books about war.

I would like to acknowledge all proper football fans like my ancestors, as well as current and emerging hooligans. Wominjeka welcome.

If you ain't prepared to fight for the team you should go and start following netball. Passion is not a crime, the criminals are the filth at FA and APL who allow the police to persecute the fans and don't allow flares. They should not just be booed when they speak at presentations, they should be burned or at least cop a sand bucket to their heads like that piece of shit Glover.

Hopefully this place isn't run by soft cocks like The World Game Forum and 442 were

great to know

Oh crap, everyone is doing this seriously... OK, here goes.

Late 40s, dad, ex player and current passionate member of... well I guess I dont really need to explain that bit :P

Apart from the local football, I follow Liverpool and Panathinaikos from afar, although I have a much bigger affinity for the greens, having spent a few season watching them live (absolutely nuts atmosphere at Greek grounds - nothing can describe really) - I dont mind Serie A, Bundi and on the odd occasion laLiga. I have preferred clubs in those leagues but thats more for the sake of having a dog in the fight than rusted on support... Socceroos fan AND the Greek national team although I must admit national team support isnt to high on my list... just follow them both by default really.

Football was the family sport, surrounded by it since birth, earliest memories are playing juniors on Sunday, and then Middle Park to watch Hellas in the afternoon... surrounded by family. Spent a few years living in Greece with the family and that was an eye opener.. Soccer WAS EVERYTHING, before school, during school, in class, after school, it permeates every facet of life.

I returned to Melbourne in the late 80s just in time to see the glory years of the NSL but always wanted football to be #1 sport here and was surprised by the animosity it was shown by "mainstream Australia" .. a few "false dawns" along the way, like Perth Glory coming along, Carlton Soccer Club being really popular for a year or so, Adelaide United being announced etc.... but ultimately, with the assassination of the NSL by "he who shall not be named" my interest in the local game dissipated.

Took a long sabbatical from attending for about 6-7 years and then, about a decade ago, a few family members convinced me to come back to the old club ... been rusted back on ever since, will only miss a match if I am on my death bed or overseas on business, otherwise Im there following the boys in blue, home and way, for better or for worse.. I drag my kiddies along when I can and am proud to watch the next generation of "Hellatzides" love the game as much as the previous ones did... Id love for my club to one day be able to play for top position in Australia but am also resigned to this artificial segregation

FORZA HELLAS.

You are never getting back into the top league and one day we will shove a lit flare up SMFCMike's ass. You know both these statements are true

T
lol he's still talking the same bollocks

One of the forumites at TWGF didn't take too nice to his tryhard posts there either and decided to go after him offline from memory 😄
The fact that you're even calling it 'offline' is killing me. I work HO in a globally distributed company and whenever there's some whatevers in a conference call it's "oh yes, yes, oh let's take it offline". Next time I hear it I'm gonna be imagining some turbo laying into a bloke now haha
