Summer of Cricket thread

Sam with a solid, minus fireworks start to the day. Beaut day in Sydney like most of December.

Oh Sam, was never to the pitch of that drive and he had made such a sensible start too.

Rocks and diamonds Travis Head. Rocks past two matches.

Predicting this will be over by end of 4th day despite two upcoming scorchers that will no doubt dry and likely singe this grassy track. May be providence as showers forecast on the final day.

Just back from beach. Saw last 15 mins before lunch.

What an Aussie collapse!

Was it a case of poor short selection?

Poor execution of the right shots? Smith's dismissal I saw.

Loss of concentration?

Pitch doing a lot? Usman - to an extent.

Doesn't look good for Aussie playing in the Test final at Lords in June ATM.

Unless Webster and Carey can make a big stand. At least both are in form. Usman, Labu aren't.

Will be interesting to see how this match goes. I kind of feel that if you roll a team, par score becomes a 100 run lead. Otherwise you give them the best batting conditions and an enormous amount of time to set up a win

So australia needs 285+
I'd like to see 300 - psychological.

You from Tassie Hounddog.

Only medium pace but accurate so far. Like him to utilize his hi release point by bowling more in the 6-8 m danger zone .
Pointed out off forum, Shaun Pollock only bowled 120 kph as a front line bowler. He achieved long term success.

We still have two Sri Lanka Tests to secure that final spot mate. I still think we can win this, if not a draw is sufficient to take out the series. We may even pick up the required WTC points.

Perhaps later in his career DC or when he started in FC cricket. .

Shaun Pollock bowling 140+ kph | High speed bowling early in his career (1995)

Kohli loses his wicket to 6th stump line in both innings.

Great bowling, Boland! Again.

Hope so!

Webster scoring 57 is top score in match so far.

Given what Konstas and Webster have done already with the bat, I wonder if Henry Hunt from the Shield as another opener to replace Labu or Usman would pay off too?
