Summer of Cricket thread

India a piddling 107 at tea. Fair to say ball dominating bat big time.
Very slow.

Tas Crick Members might have a few drinks tomorrow to celebrate qualifying for Test Champ.

Do we qualify if we draw this game?

I’m confident of beating Saffers.

I thought Washington was out, but his reaction indicated it wasn’t.

Could he have snicked it and not felt it?

I thought Webster would be at 1st slip, not 3rd like they've put him. Can't believe they would play Usman at 1st who can be shaky?

Ponting just said Webster has as good a pair of hands as anybody in Aus.
My take is with Big Beau you get better use of his reach at 3rd he can go left or right if need be and at 1st the keeper really should be getting most balls to your left.

Just imagine him and Cam Green in the cordon plucking out screamers!

It might be mean of me but I am loving the fact that that arrogant prick Kohli is having a horror series apart from that one century. He should have been out for a golden duck today

Will be interesting to see how this match goes. I kind of feel that if you roll a team, par score becomes a 100 run lead. Otherwise you give them the best batting conditions and an enormous amount of time to set up a win

So australia needs 285+

I think he had tablets - probably to kill pain.
Yep I saw him take them at least once. Is Starc super human and can play with pain that sidelines his mate Josh Hazlewood who has missed so much cricket with his minor niggling injuries.

I say cut Kid Konstas some slack, just turned 19. If he has come thru juniors with this technical flaw, blame his coaches and there have been plenty, mostly for white ball and they dont seem to take the time to hone red ball skills. Sam is driven so he will eradicate this flaw by spending hours in cricket nets same as he has done since he was 12. Detest tall poppy cutters with a passion.

Have some interesting Kontas anecdotes.

Sam Konstas played fifth grade for the St George District Cricket Club at the ridiculous age of 12 and when the end-of-season report came out his coach Warwick Hayes wrote; "Watch this space - Special K will go places. He is never overawed".
Hayes knew what he was talking about as he was Saints record run scorer across all grades. Dig the 'Special K' nickname.
