The Ange at Tottenham Thread

It's injury based but a crazy world where Ward, McCarthy and Steele are EPL keepers. Vanbruggen ordinary today too.
 
4:0 on 25. I'm watching NFL. Are Spurs so good tonight and Southampton so poor or both?
 
5:0 just before the ht whistle. This would be a great chance for Ange to practice switching it up in game. Spurs to win 7:2.
 
Top 4 defense, Top 3 attack and sitting 10th in the league.

Ange has made a rod for his own back here with the lack of rotations. He should have rotated Porro & Spence a lot earlier than this as well as giving Bergvall more of a chance and leaving that spud Bissouma out of the squad.

Things in football aren't that simple. Spence has barely played in the EPL and Bergvall is 18. He won't always light up in games as he has shown so far this season.

Spence has been VERY good in every game he's played this season and blind freddy could see Porro needed a rest.

I have no idea why Ange kept Spence on the shelf but it's those sorts of decisions that have really hurt the team.
 
tFBl is right of his observations to me, granted Spence @ 24 should have the nouse now but he has hardly played.
Young Bergvall shows promise but can Ange afford relying on him game for game ? depends who you play but he's green maybe he's seen what we don't don't.
Porro burnt ? come on he's a dambn Pro, how about those in top 4 who play some 50+ games.
Sure rotation helps but comes down the quality of your bench, thats Ange's achilles heal imo.

Bergvall is incredibly talented however even in this game he did give the ball away more times than his teammates.

hence saying green, errors lose games (most times), only had to look at united win today.
He's showing the promise but can you afford the errors at times, ofcourse not not at this level game in game out.

Exactly, you have no idea why Ange hasn't played him. None of us are on the training ground and dressing room to know exactly why players are or aren't playing. Given Ange's history of success, people have to give him the benefit of the doubt. No manager is perfect - look at Pep at the moment as an example.

I was at the game. Spurs dominant first half and could easily have had 2-3 more. Saints couldn't handle Maddison and Son in particular. Second half, Spurs took their foot off the gas and were solid but nowhere near as spectacular as the first half. Johnson way quieter than Son. Agree with other posts that Spence looked really decent. Saints had some great chances in 2nd half and on another day, would have scored 2-3 themselves.

So they took their chances well for a change.
I get why teams back off after being so much ahead preserving themselves but wouldn't you be luving get 7 8 or 9.
