Nah. It was the director of football at Celtic who had previously been involved at Yokohama that gave him his big break into Europe, a tinpot league in Europe but still close to the big time. He had Asian success with the National Team and that would have alerted the J League club.

So to be fair I know that it's your own comp but I'm not sure they will have taken his A League franchise competition experience into much consideration when Spurs were looking at his resume. It would not be considered as a good indicator of his coaching prowess.

the only thing they would've looked at is his record at Celtic

everything else, completely irrelevant... resume-wise

however his references from contacts in the outer realms of the CFG would've definitely factored in significantly

the media propaganda blitz with the help of Frank Trimboli would've also factored but probably more for the Celtic job

the Australian on the staff at Spurs would've sealed it

My brother I never insulted the nsl I was a kid when it was on. I respect it I tell you we have more in common than you think it's the suits that stuffed up the league

that enlines with Ange's previous gig, no diff to most let alone many coachs are not even league winners.
Don't get the angst/negativity towards one of our own in the big league with his hands tied.
Sure its challenging but he isn't out of his depth to me, frigging Conti was a proven winner there with proven long time players and failed miserably.
Arteta came from being an assistant, has way more resource, challenged, then fizzed out, been given time since 2019.
Howe, copius resource, a fair resume.
Nuno is a fair coach failed in short time at Spurs.
Last jobs for these guys weren't great and many others are in the same boat.
The Chosen One, look how that turned out @ spurs.

The Chosen One at least guided Porto to league and CL titles, that set him up for his good run but not many get that ride.

IMO even If Ange did change his formations/tactics they will still come up short for he doesn't have the bench cattle to back up his regular start up players.
 
Bentancur collapses on a corner landing awkwardly on his head. Not sure what caused him to collapse but the fall also did some damage.

Yeah he dived for a header then hit his head on the ground. KO'd faced down on the pitch. Hopefully nothing worse.

During half time they said Bentancur was concious, talking and on his way to hospital. Hopefully he is fine.

Kinsky looks amazing. Vicario is in trouble
