Nah. It was the director of football at Celtic who had previously been involved at Yokohama that gave him his big break into Europe, a tinpot league in Europe but still close to the big time. He had Asian success with the National Team and that would have alerted the J League club.But you said it yourself his a former a league manager three clubs have hired him since. You don't get a job if your resume is shit
So to be fair I know that it's your own comp but I'm not sure they will have taken his A League franchise competition experience into much consideration when Spurs were looking at his resume. It would not be considered as a good indicator of his coaching prowess.
