The Ange at Tottenham Thread

How is it naive? With a fit squad the system has worked to a decent degree. Add the fact the squad still needs preferred transfers in some areas, it's no wonder it's not working out.

It was a mistake not to add better centre back depth. The midfield is still ad hoc with discipline issues and the attack is generally alright but lacks depth so the players are feeling it with the match load.
With a fit squad they were still losing matches they should've won this season. This is a trend that began last season and it hasn't stopped.

Wow it's like the EPL is really challenging or something. The reason for the free fall is the squad structure was on a cliff. The injuries have been some of the most severely effecting a squad in a long time in the EPL. Everyone gets injuries but the scale for Spurs in such key areas makes their chances near null and void.

Last season LFC had only 5 senior players to escape injury free. 21 players missed games due to injury, combining for 285 games missed. They included
Thiago, Matip, Robertson, Bradley, Alexander-Arnold, Jota, Jones, Alisson, Szoboszlai, Tsimikas, Salah, Gravenberch, Konate, Mac Allister, Nunez, Gakpo & Gomez

There's no denying injuries can occur to anyone yet Liverpool had the depth and combinations to survive. Were these all at the same time? Not to mention under a manager with a fixed system the majority have known for a while and better discipline than the hot and cold Spurs midfield. It's a case rather than a comparison. Appreciate the numbers mentioned. I'd be curious to see the Spurs situation broken down.

The squad just isn't good enough to play the way he wants.

I guess if he instils it amongst the players he wants to keep, then he's got a cornerstone once the new ones come in.

As if Levy will voice anything in regards to Ange if asked. We can only guess what he's thinking. The actions regards to completed transfers us telling.

The second Everton goal shows shocking awareness and communication by Spurs. Zero threat to the left and more men but the centre back backtracks 35m from halfway to allow the player to dribble and score. Trailing midfielders need to tell the defender to go to the man and upset the run on the ball.

Ange went from a God in Scotland to a clown in England.

One of the best cases of “the grass is greener…”
Celtic fans were split on Ange. The side's performances in Europe exposed his naivety. Particularly the home and away losses to Bodo/Glimt and the only 2 points achieved in the CL the following year in a group which featured a club that was displaced and lost half their squad.

changed it up a bit today and it didnt work. Looked much better in the 4-2-4, has to give Son a bit of rest just a shadow of the player he was a few years ago.

if Spurs get relegated and it happens under Ange, Levy will shoulder all the blame for sticking with an unproven manager with no pedigree. The only team Spurs have beaten below them is Southampton. They have Leicester next. They're in freefall.

A change has to be made and soon to someone who can stabilise that midfield and defense else the CEO will look negligent.
Beat United 4-0, liverpool 1-0, Villa 4-1 and man city 4-0... he can get results... just needs players.

they didn't beat Liverpool. That tie is still alive with the away leg to be played at Anfield. Everyone was beating Man City through that stretch of games...literally everyone. United sacked their coach they were nothing in that period either. There is a level of delusion here and its fueled by the cult of Ange which Trimboli has cleverly marketed through the media.

We now have the supporters of two clubs, Celtic and Spurs saying the same things about Ange. Poor tactically, poor squad management and no plan B.

Under Rodgers, Celtic are no better in the Champions League so clearly it can't JUST be Ange.
