The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Some comments that Ange is probably high up on Dortmund's short-list. Given their error of too much internal hiring, Dortmund needed a change and having periods of coaches with very attacking play, Ange fits the bill. Not to mention Ange understands big clubs and has a clear aim. Dortmund need the short term change and longer term vision.

Another ugly day. It's really worrying now. He could probably win three cups from here, but if they get relegated then what? It's a mess.

Losing to Leicester at home is not acceptable. They’ll get relegated at this rate. The wholesale injuries, as well as a lack of investment in the squad are legitimate issues, but this form is inexcusable. It’s honestly become a bit embarrassing. I was a big Ange booster and have loved seeing him in the EPL, but it’s become impossible to defend now. Sadly it does look like he’s out of his depth. Just a massive disappointment.

It’s kind of absurd that he still says the club are in a better position that when he joined. Erm, no Ange. Tottenham have never been in relegation danger before you came along, certainly in my lifetime. The squad should be and is better than this. Watch the form improve immediately as soon as someone else comes in.

Surely this is the end of the road now. It’s sad. I really wanted him to succeed and I thought he would.
Like an manager could get much out of the available players with such a schedule. Some individuals may do better under a new manager. If Ange had the majority of key players available and more appropriate depth (Levy's fault) then things would be much more stable. Unlikely top 6 but other competitions are going well and I think a season without Europe along with a strong summer of recruitment will be exactly what Spurs and Ange need. Focus on the league and aim for top 4.

It's a tall order and Spurs already peaked by making a UCL final so I don't know what Levy wants now given he's the one whose decisions have put a big anchor around how the club operates.

Spurs could win a league then. Funny how it happened to Villa and they needed the time but with good internal management and recruitment, they're a giant reborn. West Ham have a European trophy after finally reaching some form of stability and growth.

But but Ange! No denying stages of games has cracks but the two Leicester goals had Ange fuming. Close down the threat!

Archie Grey at centre back long term ffs. Davies with his experience being shit. Hot and cold moody midfielders.

Sane Spurs Fans have a lot of perspective because they've seen so much before. The squad situation feels like a cylinder on fire and it needs massive cooling.

Got to wonder why these ultra young signings are in. Of course, they're supposed to be good in 3 years. Fresh players are urgently needed to take the strain off.

If Ange does get the sack it’s a big shame he wasn’t given the tools to succeed
Guaranteed they'll be in a better spot in the future due to such an injury crisis not happening. The difference to other clubs is they haven't had all the key players out at the same time but also had appropriate depth so balance it out. This Spurs squad is on a cliff.

a poor tradesman blames his tools

the tactics are to blame here.. they leave a massive hole in the midfield and wide open to the counter

this is 100% on Ange...the entire squad are professional footballers in one of the best leagues in the world... they continue to lose games that they've led in...that's unforgiveable... Everton shithaused their way to the final whistle after attaining a lead... Spurs are incapable of doing this under Ange. He's probably lost the dressing room already.

Bad take. Spurs want a manager who can play entertaining football, to do so you need the right players. Compare and contrast what happened when City started losing, they bought Kusanov, Omar Marmoush, and Vitor Reis for a combined £128m this transfer window. Spurs spent just 10m on a keeper...

the only people being entertained by Spurs are the fans of every opponent they play

they are now officially the worst Spurs in Premier League history

Christ. Second Leicester goal saw Bergvall far left corner with a miss hit cross which goes way back. Porro then with a dumb pass attempt. Saar needed to be more aware and drop back there but the attack and positioning was natural. Two stupid errors going against the plan leads to a conceded goal. No surprises there. Why doesn't Bergvall just roll it to the centre? Way too fancy. Guaranteed the regular defence doesn't concede either with Davies being the lax final man for both goal. Van de Ven shuts both down with his pace.

Ange 'waving' at full time. Could mean blooding anything. The winter recruitment though tells him he's not going to be given a set up. He's walked from Australia for that exact reason. There was no buy in from his employers for his philosophy. Ange isn't afraid to walk.

Really think Dortmund will be rubbing their hands together.

The circus is no different to Hannover 96 under Martin Kind. Clown running the show with skewed ambition and just power hungry. When everyone who's been at the helm realises the same thing after a while then the common denominator points to one person.
