The Ange at Tottenham Thread

Who knows what's going on behind the scenes, as Levy is a notorious tight arse - but the signings haven't been great and injuries have made it worse

I'd say he's probably done ok enough to get a half-decent job again, but the fact of the matter is he needs elite players to play his system. If he goes to a low-table club in a strong league he's probably going to struggle
I hope he turns it around but I think no silverware this year and he's out .... My prediction is he winds up at one of the top three in Greece....

Can't see him staying on after this year unless he pulls a rabbit out of his hat for the rest of the season.

I do wonder if there’s life after Spurs for Ange.

He could get sacked, collect his payout and just retire in Greece.

He’s had a bloody amazing career, better than most managers to have ever managed the game.

The outrage isn’t enough yet imo.
Levy isn’t a bloke who jumps quick history shows this.

Mate there are countless managers ahead of Ange with better resumes who have come and gone but he’s been the most successful Aussie Greek one no doubt about that.

He’s a fighter doubt he’ll walk away if when the sack happens as people think.
Lots of football left in him he luvs it.

There are plenty of managers that have managed in the prem and have never lifted a single piece of sliver I’ll tell you that :)

As an Australian and a football manager, in that context, he’s done so well that I doubt we’ll see another Ange for a very long time.

It's getting pretty hard now, cant squeeze much more juice out of this team. Needs some transfers in but will he get the chance?

Pretty much has to win or at least make the final of a league cup/europa league. To demonstrate some progress.

Where are the tricky wingers? He hasn't got one... Jota was so good for him at Celtic he needs someone like that.

Having 1 defender back on corners is kind of insane at this level.

What a start by Spurs. Nearly a 3rd on 12. That would've been sweet.

Cucurella can't even sort the right boots. Hilarious seeing him go down twice.

Had a 2000/1 multi with Arsenal to win 2:1 (late goal taken back), Ipswich 1:1 (late winner), Brighton to win (late equaliser) and Spurs to end 2:2. Guaranteed it will.

Romero off injured. In hindsight the wrong selection so back to square one there.

Brain farts from Udogie (who’s been poor this season) & Sarr.

Having said that, Maresca overloaded the MF and Ange didn’t react to it, which is probably why people are starting to question whether he’s at the level.

Compare Chelsea’s bench to Spurs
do you want me to compare the recent results lol.

dont get me wrong, i'd like to see ange do well. But Spurs dont have a good track record with managers.

Who was the last "successful" manager at spurs? Harry Redknapp?

2-0 up, 4-3 down.

Ange's time is almost over.
Levy loves Ange. He puts his hand up and takes the blame for everything, even when it’s not his fault. Ange also said the signings were the players he wanted. I don’t believe it.

For this reason, I don’t think Ange’s job is under threat for now. But I think Ange might consider walking if Levy doesn’t buy the 5-6 players they need over the next 2 transfer windows.

Tottenham have a midtable quality squad that has been decimated by injury. They might have spent £140 million in the last transfer window, but that is small bikkies nowadays for a team with so much money.

Tottenham have no ambition. Everyone knows this. They should have bought Neto and Eze. Instead, they buy a bunch of 18 and 19 years olds that maybe great players in 3-4 years, but not ready to start games now (or are out injured).

From here, Tottenham need to turn all of their focus on the cups and Europa League. They have a winnable quarter final in the Carabao Cup. An easy 3d round draw for the FA cup and are one of the bookies favourites to win the Europa league. Beating Rangers this week should be prioritised over beating Southampton.
