The Melbourne Victory Thread

Not at all a Victory fan... (Mariner me) but I've been very impressed with Piscopo. He's always been good but not quite the level I felt he could get to.

Hitting his straps now.

Velupillay out of squad cos of ankle. Bruno back in.
Might see Piscopo and Arzani starting on wings which could be interesting.

Reec did nothing at all. Like literally. Terrible touch too. Never seen him do a thing. Then Bruno comes on for last five. So frustrating. Hopefully that reec hits his straps soon as I am yet to see anything that is near this level, however he must have something o be getting picked.

Dominated that game yet found a way to lose it.

Vergos has been disappointing so far. We have a really good team, but should be winning games like today. very frustrating match

Can't help but think PK's arrogance with Bruno cost us today.

The concerns I had going into the season about not having enough goals in us came back to haunt us yesterday. This game reminded me of the Australia cup final where we just didn’t take our chances. We even had a clear penalty that for some amazing reason wasn’t given.

But for me, that loss was on PK. His subs were a joke. I’m sorry, but Jing Reec isn’t up to it at this point. Bruno should have come on a half time to provide that cutting edge.

But it really irks me that Wellington are having success with that low block, anti-football bullshit. I wouldn’t be happy if Victory won games playing like that.

Why was arzani penalty not with VAR?
I assume Var did look at it but cos there was ‘no clear and obvious error by field referee’ it wasn’t awarded. Muz may disagree but I thought it would of been soft to give but technically still a penalty. Defender borought him down in box 🤷‍♂️

Number 9 is our issue. Bruno should be starting.

Looked like his foot was stomped on, unless it's a deceptive camera angle.

This happened right in front of the Vuck fans and it was stone cold penalty. I'm the first to admit Arzani has a reputation for exaggeration, but geez, come on!!! The referee might have been blind sighted, but I am at a loss to understand how the VAR didn't get involved.

wowsers....

As bad as it looks (and those numbers look horrific), other teams don't seem to release their numbers, so we don't really have anyone else to compare with.

Caroline Carnegie's comments didn't sit well with me either. She made a reference the Xmas derby incident a couple of years ago. Maybe the club would not have lost so much money (and gate receipts) had the club had backed the fans at the time and appealed the sanctions. 2 years on and the fans haven't returned in the numbers we would have expected pre-pandemic.

Thats a fair point... as much as I hate Victory, it will be a massive blow to football in this country if they fold....

Just came here to post that! Fuck me not good lol

I doubt they'd fold because they have a lot of influence and people with money involved, but there is no denying it's a possibility

How the hell could they defend the fans!! They ran on the pitch and one assaulted a player

Don't want to sound too arrogant but if MV is gone, you'd imagine that's curtains for the a-league
