The Melbourne Victory Thread

To his defence he was focusing on the match he shouldn't of done it
It might have been on Suited and Booted, I think they said that Glover had already chucked a few flares back and that last flare was a different lighter flare hence went flying.

Honestly rivalry aside. I see where you're coming from and the day 1 members but victory was a joke the league was a joke they had to do damage control and weed out the thugs really. Probably could of done things better but they needed to fix it up like what happened could of been worse
Glover was never held accountable for throwing a flare into the crowd. MV as a whole club was scape goated when it should have been the 100 wanna-be hooligans and a dimwitted goal keeper.

Why was he throwing them at all?! Should have put them in the buckets of sand. So moronic to throw them towards crowd of people.

I guess the security wasn't doing much. But I'm a bit "meh" about Glover. Yeah, he wasn't smart, but getting upset at him is like hanging a vigilante, it's ignoring the firestarters... and who can be upset with Charles Bronson, really? 😅

No one storms onto the pitch if he doesn't chuck the flare. That's just a fact. And if someone responds by claiming they had pre-planned on invading the pitch, that is also wrong.

I don't think it was preplanned but that match had a vibe from both fans. Ours were throwing flares as well I do believe something was going to happen either end

Alternatively, no one storms onto the pitch if the fans don't chuck the flare.

That's true.

When City fans threw fares onto the pitch, Paul Izzo chucked them past the byline for the seccos to collect. When Victory fans did it, Glover tried to fling one back into the crowd, but it fell just short and it hit the fence. But the second time he flung it harder and succeeded (y)

So... outcome is, all Melbourne fans are POS?

Hmmm judging by some of the aggro on show Im not so sure that is necessarily true mate... Maybe throwing a flare was the "excuse" but it almost seems like it was going to happen anyway...
That's the way I remember. The socials in the week before were talking up a pitch invasion. I believe it was a City home game so they should have had extra security.

I see four faults here.

1) Melb Victory would have know what was coming if I did on the Central Coast. They should have provided police and security with any details they knew.
2 Similarly City were responsible for security and surely knew that tensions were high.
3) Glover. There is no way he should have responded the way he did. If he wasn't happen complain to the ref or simply put it in the sand yourself. It was a provocative action that gave the trigger for the pitch invasion and the injuries to Glover and the referee.
4) The pitch invaders intent on causing trouble.

Also, decisions by PK look poor to have left our Arzani and Bruno. Which most fans knew
Does PK have any history with Fornaroli and Arzani when he was at City? A quick google tells me PK was an assistant when they both departed City. Fornaroli clearly left on bad terms
