The Melbourne Victory Thread

Far out, that looks incredible.

I genuinely thought it would just be at the HOTM.

This far exceeds expectations.

Beveridge is miles out of Melbourne though, which is the only negative

I have to say that I am disappointed with the location. It’s not as far out as you think... About 10-15 minutes north of Craigieburn. But its clearly not in metropolitan Melbourne. Beverage doesn’t even have a train station.

If they’re going that far out from the city, what are your tips for the east, south, and west sites? I’ll go somewhere around:

South – Baxter/Moorooduc
East – Chirnside Park/Coldstream or Lysterfield/Narre Warren East if they want to cut off MCFC.
West – Bonnie Brook/Plumpton

I think Baxter would be a great location for the South. City would definitely consider the Peninsula to be their market. Plus that would capture the Frankston area as well.

For the east, you would probably look at the Ringwood or Ferntree Gully region, so you’re in the ballpark.

Greater Melton seems to be the obvious location for the west. But I also wouldn’t rule out Laverton North/Derrimut.

It's the third derby of the season so not as much demand

Not sold on Bos yet, but Valadon is massive. I don't know how long we'll hold on to Valadon and Teague, but at least they're locked in for potential big transfers.

Bos started the season very well, but I think he has struggled to make an impact when he pushes forward. Maybe Diles needs to keep it a little simpler and keep him at LB instead of trying to turn him into a winger?

Speaking of Kasie Bos, his story makes for an interesting talking point when to comes to Melbourne Victory creating 4 academy campuses across Melbourne.

We know his brother came through City youth. FVS this week claimed on their pod that Kasey came to Victory because the City Academy in Casey Fields was too far for him to travel.

So in that regard, maybe this 4 campus idea is more astute than I gave them credit for

The Sydney derby still got over 30,000.

GA tickets are $42. That's total bullshit and MV needs to be called out for it.

I used to criticise City for jacking up the prices when they hosted derbies. It would be hypocritical of me not to criticise Victory for these prices. It’s fucked up.

There are no GA tickets. For derbies it's fully reserved seating, which is $35 for an Adult, which is the normal price for GA at any other game. When you go to the Ticketek site, select 'best available' then select reserved.

My bad. Cost is $35 for areas that are normally GA for non-fully ticketed games. And $42 for Active. Plus a $6.50 booking fee on top.

FYI, we shouldn't be accepting $35 as the norm for the cheapest available adult ticket. It should be $20 for regular games. Maybe $25 for more premium games such as derbies/Big Blue.

It's been $35 for a decade, so can't complain too much, considering everything else is going up.
Ticket pricing is a bit of a balancing act.
Let's say 10,000 people attend a MV game and for purposes of this exercise lets say they all paid $35 for their ticket. Total ticket sales would be $350,000.
If ticket prices were $20ea, they would need to sell 17,500 tickets to hit the same total.
So the question is, would they sell 7,500 more tickets if they were 40% cheaper? Maybe, but maybe not. It's a tricky one to balance.

It's been $35 for a decade,

That is blatantly untrue. Nor has it ever been $42 for active before this season. GA and active used to be the same price.

I specifically recall the infamous derby of December 2023 being $30 +bf. I know this because I distinctly remember inviting a non-football friend. And after bucket gate occurred, I asked him not to hand me any money.

Sure, that was a City home game, but it was always City jacking up the prices first, then us following suit.

But that’s the wrong way to look at it.

All stakeholders should want 27,000-28,000 at AAMI Park instead of maybe 20,000. The only way you’re going to get that is competitively priced tickets. Casual fans are not going to fork out $35-$42. They're just not.

Don't forget, a larger crowd also means more money spent at the merchandise shop, food, drinks, etc. So that 40% shortfall you're claiming can be made up for.

Probably trying to price out the fuckwhits
Its wild that the APL clubs charge their fans extra and expect them to perform as part of the privileged of sitting in a particular stand.... lol ...... and then criticise them if they get too rowdy... ultra capitalism at its finest.

Probably trying to price out the fuckwhits
It had to be you again that i am replying too, but.

I am under the impression that, the thugs causing problems are not even football fans, at times i thing that they are a paid mob to disrupt the MV club and football in Victoria from taking a hold. Also why do they dress in all black just like the far right Nazi loving group.
Where are the MV colours on the thugs, also why is it only when City and MV meet, maybe because it attracts bigger crowds, hence why i think its orgonized.
The bigget the crowds the more the media puts hate on MV and the game.
