Popa will pick Rowles, Burgess and Geria is Souttar's injury is serious.
I don't think he will pick Matthews again
It appears you've asked a question about Souttar's injury. Out for the season I'm afraid. Truth hurts but seeing people tweet 12-18 months makes me feel sick. Could be any length of time.

Matthews was good but for the wayward header and that's ME away which is one of the tougher places to start. I agree he'll go for a bit more experience. Rowles is suddenly much more in the frame. He did get a full game against China so it's not like he's disliked.

All this defence talk but the pressing issue is getting players like Nisbet, Irankunda and Toure back in. We need to win and thereby score goals. What a shit season though with Souttar, Circati and Farrell all hurt. Arguably our best ball playing back 3 and defensively sound. Arguably? Probably true to be fair.

an out of the box option is alex grant
plays in the csl which is a modest league but was one of the best players in the k league the last 2 years. Sasha ognenovski showed that dominating the k league is an adequate level for international football
We've had many come in and do a solid, concentrated job. Jurman, Wright, Rowles. Other defenders have done well in less pressing games than UAE and Peru.

He'd have to lit immensely and if it happens, Sainsbury should be shortlisted at least. He really looks like in chill mode however and whether he could reawaken the vital experience I don't know. No judgement but some players feel they've done their hard yards and want to enjoy the twilight.

The goals by Archie Goodwin and Stama on the weekend seemed so AFC as well. Got to get the balls into the box and I think those guys would poach. I know Lebanon and Palestine are less than our group. Well, the latter have avoided defeat twice to SK, but the way we went hard against them only to then become complacent and shy in the next round is very frustrating. We need to bully up top and be greedy to score.

I'll throw in Jake Girdwood-Reich instead of Hayden Matthews to replace Souttar. I realise he is not in the starting line up but always gets subbed on.

Saw JGR on Wiki and thought he's worth listing. Definitely. You wonder how this young group will be in 5 years.

JRB totally in the abyss.

Alex Grant hasn't played since July. Ognenovski was the best CB in the K-League. He won an ACL title and Asian player of the year. K-League is a much better league than the CSL. I'd prefer we pick a form AL player.

JGR was a key player in SFC's defence last year. Has height, solid build and can control the tempo but also a good reader of the play. Who is JRB?

Are the tickets already sold out for Indonesia or will more release?

Will be interesting to see where the FA prefer to have their Sydney games.

Had a look this morning and there are still some tickets available in the active section and in category B & C, although not a lot.

With Souttar out, surely Triantis is in the frame. Has been excelling for Hibs at DM (where the Socceroos are also weak) but was outstanding for CCM at CB two years ago. Has gone to a new level at Hibs and has made the SPFL team of the week three times (I think) this season. Scored an excellent goal from a corner too yesterday.

Cheers, bought some seats.

Most likely near the John Holland TV failure causing a restricted view.

Home game for Indonesia, heavy community around Kingsford.

I'd pick Jack Iredale ahead of Rowles now - he's been one of Hibs best since he's started & the Hibs fans are saying that he's a big part of their recent run of 4 wins.

Hobbled off with an injury this morning.

Rowles has been one of Hearts' best in recent times. Good to see him fighting back.

I think DM is where we have the greatest depth. Luongo, O'Neill, Balard, Triantis, Baccus and Devlin. I'd add Nieuwenhof if he were playing not injured. Irvine and Yazbek if you consider them DMs not 8s.

There are some decent players there but Popa hasn't been picking them. Irvine is usually there and while he works hard in defence his touch and passing are dreadful.

Iredale, Davidson and Elder would save us a lot of bother by picking them for versatility. Farrell when fit is first of course.
