Tasmania is an economic wasteland that cannot support a professional football club. The fact that the cashed up AFL has not put a team there speaks volumes.

The AFL will happily throw hundreds of millions of dollars at Tasmania until it works. Look at Gold Coast as a similar example.

Could the case for football people existing in Tassie be like the Tasmanian Tiger Safari? They're extinct that's why nobody goes?...tum tum tum.

I think the horse has bolted re a Tassie team. With a billion+ being spent on an AFL stadium in Hobart, there is no money left for other sports. The Jackjumpers sell out every week, but there is no chance of a stadium upgrade.

Tasmanians had the chance to vote out the government and dump the AFL stadium earlier this year... and they chose not to.

Our only chance is if someone with deep pockets invests in football down there. Its a shame too, because i think North Hobart Oval has big potential as a boutique football stadium.
