The Ange at Tottenham Thread

what are you talking about? They've only lost one match in the CL this season and are on target to qualify for the playoffs

To make the playoff in this iteration you only have to qualify in the top 24 teams, which is far easier than previous iterations.

its a considerable improvement in both cases

Ange failed to win a single game and only managed two draws against a decimated Shakhtar

This problem at Tottenham where virtually all the 1st team are injured, it's not just this current season. Almost all the 2nd half of the previous season he had this same injury crisis. Ange's first season began with that dream run where he was getting best manager awards, and everyone was drooling at his feet. Then the injuries started, and those have not let up ever since.

If we take the "leave no stone unturned", I would look to see the level of know-how in the sports science team. Not all health professionals are the same. Just look at the doctors in Australia - some are just establishment types that prescribe pills for anything.

“Considerable” is a bit of an overstatement when they finished dead last before the comp became easier to make it to the knockout stages.

Celtic should have won at least one of those Shakhtar games if it wasn’t for atrocious finishing.

Celtic have always been plucky in the Champions League though. They’re known for heroic defeats and the odd surprise win.

A lot of Celtic fans views of Ange are in hindsight and influenced by his Spurs tenure.

Most fans were giving him the keys to Glasgow before he left.

lack of game management is why they failed to defeat Shakhtar. A familiar story I know, ...that's on Ange. (great way to start an interview IYKYK)

It's not game management when your strikers are missing from 6 yards out mate.

I'm willing to concede Ange is no tactical mastermind, in fact I think there are a number of Australian coaches ahead of him in that regard.

But arguing that Celtic have gone on to achieve greater things since he's left is just daft at best. There wouldn't be a Celtic fan anywhere in the world complaining if he decided to stay on.

I know plenty that were happy to see the back of him.

It actually maybe a great learning curve for him in seriea - that’s if a club takes a punt on him in the future.

Losing to Leicester at home is not acceptable. They’ll get relegated at this rate. The wholesale injuries, as well as a lack of investment in the squad are legitimate issues, but this form is inexcusable. It’s honestly become a bit embarrassing. I was a big Ange booster and have loved seeing him in the EPL, but it’s become impossible to defend now. Sadly it does look like he’s out of his depth. Just a massive disappointment.

It’s kind of absurd that he still says the club are in a better position that when he joined. Erm, no Ange. Tottenham have never been in relegation danger before you came along, certainly in my lifetime. The squad should be and is better than this. Watch the form improve immediately as soon as someone else comes in.

Surely this is the end of the road now. It’s sad. I really wanted him to succeed and I thought he would.

If he does go his senior assistant has only ever managed U18s. Do Mile or Monty get the interim job for the rest of the season?
