u23 team of the season

I curious, if fotmob was fed footage from a random year in the mid to late 90s I wonder how far off we are from back then? Clearly there is no viduka or kewell, but still

@Decentric I was curious where fotmob rates our squad of u20s compared to available players. Selected players in green and I've ordered them from best rating to worst. Fotmob and other ai algorithms are getting better but of course are far from infallible
 
It is interesting comparing mcgree at u22 and segecic at u21.

Segecic has at the moment more end product despite being a year younger which is a lot of time in development. His defensive and passing stats aren't miles behind. Only remedial areas are long passes and crossing.

Segecic is playing when there are a lot more young players of his age that are of a much higher quality then when McGree played in the AL.

I gather segecic is still a bit of a standout for his age (2004)
 
Young players tend to improve over the season . A month ago the number that were in the top half of players was 25 (a rating of 6.87+), now it is 29. If we had a longer season this number would have a chance to rise

The other stat to keep an eye on is how many players born 2006-2008 get at least 20 games this season. Almost every player we produced that has made the big 5 or a club playing CL group stages has had a 20 game season by u19 which this season is those born 2006 and later

Rahmani could maki it too as could bosnjak, brazete, memeti and de jesus. We have some players that have hit that. Need to improve giving players early game time if we want to go to the next level
 
In previous seasons Yull, jovanovic, di pizio, waddingham, segecic are some of the young players who have hit the 20 game season by u19 benchmark. Will try and make a full list some time
