u23 team of the season

Pierias played wing at WSW and left then over 6 months ago. Adelaide signed him to play wing as well but then ended up playing RB and he's been one of our best players this season.
Hats off to AU and specially Carl Veart as they really improve players. Pierias has always shown potential (at City & WSW) but somehow never just quite reached it until this season. Indeed, if his form keeps up I think he should be considered for the Socceroos as an understudy to Geria or if the team needs a player with speed to take the ball forward on the right flank.

I thought Pierias was originally a RB at City. Yes he bombed forward well, but that wasn't often, and did score a goal or two. As said, he seems t ohave found a sweet spot with AU, and good for him and Veart.
Speaking of whom, Veart to me punches above his weight in getting good results out of an AU side that doesn't always have the cattle.

His improved and I'm really happy for him but he still isn't effective enough on the ball he takes to many touches. a strong a league player but not good enough for the national team imo

Watching Perth Glory and Brisbane, both of whom have ex AU players who are now playing below the level they were at AU.
